Summary

John retired just over two years ago having spent his research career working on experiments at CERN. He participated in fixed target experiments at the PS and at the Omega Spectrometer and then on the collider experiments: UA1, OPAL and ATLAS where his efforts focussed on the hadron calorimeter, endcap muon chambers and the Semiconductor Central Tracker respectively.

He is continuing to contribute on a part-time level (as long as useful!) to the group's efforts, principally around the activities of BILPA, in particular on the irradiation of ATLAS/ITK devices at the local Medical Physics MC40 cyclotron.

For outreach, he also continues to demonstrate our transportable spark chamber and cosmic ray telescopes at local schools and at public events.
