Summary

Ioannis holds a Ph.D in Experimental Astroparticle Physics from the University of the Aegean and a M.Sc. in Physics and Technological Applications from National Technical University of Athens.

He joined the Birmingham particle Physics group as a Research Fellow, holding a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship for Neutron Spectroscopy with a Spherical Proportional Counter for precision measurements in deep-underground laboratories.

From 2017 to 2019 he was engaged in the construction of the Micromegas detectors for the New Small Wheel of the CERN ATLAS experiment in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while since 2017 he participates in the CERN-RD51 PICOSEC research collaboration contributing in experimental data analysis and simulation.

He has significant experience in detector systems, particularly in data analysis, simulation of physical processes, detector construction, quality control and calibration procedures.
