The RD51 Collaboration aims at the development of advanced micro-pattern gaseous detectors and associated electronic-readout systems, for applications in basic and applied research. The RD51 collaboration involves approximately 413 participants, 73 universities and research centres from 26 countries.

Birmingham contributes in different activities including the development of detailed simulations for gaseous detectors combining the strengths of Geant4 and Garfield++.
