Title: Search for Wimps in the UK

Speaker: Dr Nigel Smith (RAL)

Abstract
The search for WIMPs in the UK The current status of the search for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles, a hypothetical particle which is the leading candidate to explain the 'missing' mass in the Galaxy, is discussed, with a focus on the work undertaken at the Boulby salt mine in North Yorkshire. Current results from a liquid xenon detector developed by the UK groups will be outlined.
