Particle Physics Seminar

Date: Wednesday 29th January 2003

Title: Progress in next-to-next-to-leading order QCD

Speaker: Professor Nigel Glover (Durham)

Abstract

I review some successes of perturbative QCD at next-to-leading order. I give reasons why next-to-next-to-leading order calculations for scattering processes might be important and how they will improve our understanding of QCD. I describe the theoretical requirements for constructing a NNLO parton level Monte Carlo and describe recent developments in the field.

This Particle Physics Seminar takes place in room Orlit O02 on Wednesday at 1315. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served at 1300.
