Recent Results from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider: a Perfect Liquid?

Lee Barnby (Birmingham)

Abstract

Since achieving first collisions, almost nine years ago BNL's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) has uncovered evidence for a new state of matter dubbed the "Perfect Liquid". There remain however many open questions about the characteristics of this perfect liquid. In this talk I will present a selection of data from RHIC and other facilities, mainly from results shown at the recent 'Quark Matter' conference, which summarise the status of this investigation.
