Abstract

The BESIII experiment at the electron positron collider BEPCII in Beijing has been successfully collecting data samples in the tau-mass region since 2008, including the world's largest data samples at the J/psi and psi(2S) resonances. Recent observations of hyperon polarization in J/psi and psi(2S) decays at BESIII have opened up new opportunities for precision tests of the standard model and attracted both experimental and theoretical attention. In this talk, I will present the methods employed to study the production and decay of hyperon-antihyperon pairs at BESIII and highlight recent results on this topic, including CP-tests and the Lambda decay asymmetry which was found to be significantly larger than the previous long-standing PDG value.
